Measures of natality refer to population-based measures of birth.

Commonly used natality measures are also reported as rates:

Crude birth rateThe number of live births during a specific time interval divided by the total population at the midpoint of that time interval.
General fertility rateThe number of live births during a specific time interval divided by the total number of women ages 15-44 at the midpoint of that time interval.
