Welcome!

The purpose of this guide is to combine a basic understanding of statistical concepts (know-why) with instructions for analysing quantitative data in Stata (know-how). It is positioned somewhere in the intersection between social sciences and medical sciences.

We have kept the guide almost completely free of formulas (i.e. brain-freezing mathematical equations). In doing so, we have tried to explain everything at the most elementary level and only included aspects that we think are important for applied statistics. As such, this guide is pragmatic and research-oriented. Hopefully, you will find it useful.

Happy exploration!

The Stata Guide is now live!

Over the last few months, our team of editors (Linnea Eriksson, Sandra Rogne, Sydney Ross, Tanishta Rajesh, & Ylva B Almquist) have been working to turn the original Stata guide into a more interactive webpage. And now it is finally time for the site to go live! Hopefully this will increase the accessibility of statistics…

A new structure

From October 2023 and onward, we will work on re-structuring the Stata guide to make it even more useful for students (and researchers). We plan to launch the new guide in January/February 2024.
